My Teaching Style

At Mighty Arrows Early Learning, I use a thematic, hands-on approach to early learning. Instead of teaching each subject separately, I build learning around one engaging central theme and use that theme to connect multiple areas of development.

For example, during a Fall unit, children might explore changing leaves and seasonal weather while learning early science concepts, practice counting and patterns with pumpkins, develop language and literacy through fall stories and songs, create fall-inspired art, and strengthen social-emotional skills through movement, conversation, and cooperative activities.

This approach allows children to see that learning is connected. Math, literacy, science, art, music, movement, and social-emotional development can all come together through one meaningful theme.

My classes are designed to be:

• 🍂 Thematic: Each unit centers around an engaging topic that gives children a familiar context for learning.
• 🎵 Music & movement-rich: Songs, dancing, rhythm, and movement keep young learners actively involved.
• 🎨 Creative: Children have opportunities to draw, create, imagine, and express their ideas.
• 🔎 Hands-on: Learning extends beyond the screen with simple activities children can do using materials they have at home.
• 📚 Literacy-focused: Stories, vocabulary, conversation, rhymes, and songs are woven throughout each unit.
• 🔢 Developmentally appropriate: Early math, science, language, and cognitive skills are naturally incorporated into meaningful activities.
• 🧸 Play-based: Children learn best when they are actively engaged, curious, and having fun.
• ❤️ Whole-child focused: My goal is to nurture not only academic readiness, but also confidence, creativity, communication, independence, and a love of learning.

Rather than asking children to simply sit and listen, I want them to move, sing, explore, create, talk, discover, and participate.

Each theme becomes a little learning world where children can experience many different subjects while following one exciting idea from beginning to end.
